    Program Requirements

    The SSH program consists of three components which students complete sequentially. Full-time students should complete the requirements within a four year period.
    Three distinct phases:

    • Coursework (3.5 FCE)
    • Qualifying Examination
    • Research and Thesis

    Required Courses (3.5 FCE) 

    Note:

    • For students enrolled full-time, CHL 5101H* Social Theory and Health and CHL 5102H* Social and Political Forces in Health Care, must be completed by the end of the second semester of the first year of study
    • Students who have already taken these courses prior to admission into the Ph.D. program, are required to take electives in their place.

    2 research methods (qualitative and/or quantitative) (1.0)
